Very cool and interesting garden. My kiddos love the sculptures and the children’s section. The turtles in the ponds are a big hit with them as well! I live much closer to the San Diego botanic gardens but I prefer the more natural and laid back feel at this one. Can beat the price of $5 an adult, $3 for children.
Very nice place to visit and walk thru. There is disc golf, basketball, volleyball, horseshoes, kids' playground, tennis, and baseball.
This place was really great! We went on a quiet Thursday and there were only a couple other people around. It was peaceful, quiet, and beautiful. We enjoyed all the many themed gardens and awesome plants. We also saw road runners and lizards. Fun!
Absolutely beautiful gardens, very well kept. Great for children too.
Located inside Brengle Terrace Park (open 6am-8pm and closed for big events like Fourth of July and The Scottish Highland Games Festival). Can be closed for private events. Five dollar entry fee or $65 membership fee. Some parking inside the gate. 3 acres for walks. Some steep areas. Several ponds. A small grass area. A kids area with musical instruments and a tunnel and a water pump and a shady area for a picnic.
Accessibility: there are disabled parking spots actually inside this park (see photos). Besides this, there are tons of other, non-disabled parking spots directly inside the entrance of the park, and right outside the park. Most of the park is on hilly, dirt ground, not great for wheelchairs or anyone who has a difficult time walking.
Experience: I paid five dollars per person to enter (I wish it was per car but I guess that's how they keep the park running). I came on a Sunday and there were other people there but not that many. I actually never crossed by anyone closely on any trails. It is definitely a beautiful park with great views of Vista, but I recommend coming later in the day, maybe two hours before sunset, so there is more shade from the trees. During the middle of the day it gets super hot and there isn't as much shade when the sun is directly overhead. There are drinking fountains with water in a few places around the park which is super cool, and they have bathrooms (porta potties) and trash and recycle bins all over. Very cool place, very relaxing.
Went here today. Very deserted. Accept for a couple making out. Lots of dead and dying vegetation to see. Waste of $5.00 admission fee. And can get in without paying the admission fee. No workers around.
Pleasant surprise! Quaint place to spend quality time with family. No frills, small, simple, clean fun. Took my father here, he was visiting from Alabama and he loves plants and flowers; he was amazed and we all had a grand time.
